Circuit description
Preamp: The two tube preamplifier is on a .091 inch thick double-sided PC board that uses very high quality thru-hole construction for absolute ease of parts replacement in the unlikely event that it should it be needed. Both preamp tubes are fully shielded for quiet operation. The 2-stage preamp uses a 12AX7 first stage followed by the tone controls and the second half 12AX7 as the second gain stage. This is followed by both halves of a 12AT7 configured as a grounded grid type phase inverter/driver. This preamp is not a copy of a fender design and has a sound unique to this amplifier.
Power Amp : The power output stage is a Class A , cathode bias output stage using 2 - 6V6GT output tubes. The output stage and all other wiring is point to point using vintage cloth covered push back wire.
Rectifier : The rectification is handled by a 5Y3GT dual diode rectifier . Filter capacitors in the power supply are high quality Sprague "Atom" electrolytic. The power supply is on a separate PC board of the same construction as the preamp board for serviceability.
Resistors : Resistors are carbon composition for tone affecting positions and low noise metal film elsewhere . The pots for the tone controls are plastic shaft CTS units. They are not mounted to the PC boards but rather are attached with flying leads. This prevents PC board damage if the pot gets physically damaged.
Capacitors: Coupling capacitors are the Mallory 150 series and are used for all coupling and tone controls.
